Pokémon GO + Pokémon HOME - how to get Meltan
As announced in the presentation, Pokemon Meltan can be obtained by moving Pokemon between these games. This is how it will work:
- Transferring Pokemon from Pokemon GO to Pokemon Home will allow open Mystery Box, in which Meltan will appear:
- In Pokémon Home, players will receive a Mystery Gift, which will contain a special Melmetal Pokémon that can gigantamax:
- Any transferred Pokémon will trigger this effect, presumably with the same restrictions as previous Meltan Crates.

If you send a Pokemon from GO to HOME, you can get Mythical Pokemon Melmetal as a Mystery Gift in Pokémon HOME. This Melmetal is special as it can change form to Gigantamax in any battles in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield that allow it, such as Max Raid Battle.
As an added benefit, if you send a Pokémon to Pokémon HOME from Pokémon GO, you will be able to unlock Mystery Box in Pokémon GO. This will cause the map to appear mythical Pokemon Meltan for a limited time.
