Hoenn is the third region in the Pokémon universe.

Hoenn Hoenn is the third region of the Pokémon world and the third generation added to Pokémon GO after Johto. It is based on the real-life Japanese island of Kyushu, known for its mountains, volcanoes, and abundance of water. Hoenn first appeared in the Game Boy Advance games Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire and represented a significant advancement for the series, introducing 135 new Pokémon to the world.

Hoenn became a region where Pokémon began to gain a noticeably greater variety of forms and abilities. Many evolutions gained improved combat stats, new type combinations appeared, and some were even able to Mega Evolve—for example, Blaziken, Swampert, Gardevoir и Metagross.
