PokéStops and why are they needed in Pokemon GO
These objects have three game goals:
- They are a common source for most items and one of the few sources for pokemon eggs.
- Wild Pokémon naturally gather around them. These Pokemon can be seen on the radar. Moreover, Lure Module can be placed on a PokeStop, causing a variety of Pokémon to spawn nearby.

Photo Disc Point
Photo discs are circular plates with a photograph of an object or place for which a particular PokeStop is placed or Gym... When the trainer swipes his finger across the disc, he is awarded 50 XP. As soon as the trainer picks up the items, he will not be able to repeat this operation at this point for 5 minutes. During these 5 minutes, the PokéStop will turn purple, indicating that it is inactive. Soon it will turn blue again and items can be collected again.
To help players explore new locations in the real world, PokéStops they haven't visited before will be surrounded by rings. As soon as such a Photo Disc is rotated, the rings disappear. Visiting the new PokéStop gives 250 XP instead of 50.

Team P in PokéStops
